"New" Year!

Okay, So I resolve to try to post more often and to stop apologizing when I haven't posted in forever.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope that 2012 is filled with lots of happiness and excitement. I'll kick it off with all my happy and exciting news!  So before the new year I drove down to Arizona to spend Christmas with my mommy.  It was such a fun drive; I like driving too much I think, and I loved spending time with my mom! I was able to close my Bank of America checking and saving account because there are BoA's in Arizona! Then on New Year's I went to a work party where I finally got to try chunky cinnamon french toast (so good) and I won a DVD: Grown Ups.  It was a great night.  I hung out with some friends the Thursday before school started; we went to Cafe Rio! The Saturday before school started I went to see Sherlock Holmes with the girls in my 4-plex and Chantelle and then I went to a Harry Potter Movie Marathon!  Then School started and here is where it actually gets interesting/informative!

So I  am super excited for this semester.  I was able to meet with my academic adviser and decide what I was going to major in.  So I am officially majoring in Business Administration with a Minor in Music... I should, as long as I can get the classes I need, be graduating in May 2014 (only 10 years after graduating High School)!  So my classes this semester are mostly all toward my degree(s).. the only classes not degree(s) specific are my two gym classes, gymnastics and weight training. I am hoping that after this semester I will get into a "workout routine" and be able to continue on my own.  I am hoping to get into shape for the first time in my life!  So I am taking the 2 gym classes and also: Intro to Microeconomics, Business Communication, Masterpieces of Music (required for my minor), and Pre-Calculus.  I know at least one person in every one of my classes and I am enjoying them all so far!  All of my books are E-Books this semester, so I just need to carry my laptop around with me and a pen/pencil when I take a quiz or an exam. I take all my notes on my computer to make life lighter!  I'm still in LDV and Institute choir... Although I don't know if I will be able to be in them after this year... It depends on my schedule... I need to be in 2 of the school choirs next year for my minor (and my graduation schedule) so it depends on home much time I have.

I had an awesome experience last night.  So there is this group called Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand, they are a blue grass group, and they played at the Institute last night!  I had to stay after to help take down the extra staging we put up and put the regular staging back together!  So I got to hang around waiting for everyone to chat with the band and waiting for the band to pack up all there stuff.. so while I was waiting I started chatting with one of the band members Craig Miner (the banjo player). It came up that I was from NH  and he said he served his mission out there.  I asked which mission and guess what... He served in the Boston Massachusetts  Mission... So he knows where Merrimack is... It was so cool!  Anyway... Not too much is new and exciting... Just trying to take everything one day at a time... Okay so I just remembered something else that is new and I would have just put it before the "not too much is new" statement but this way better illustrates how "foreign" it is that I forget about it... so Sara put lots of Highlights in my hair... I am much blonder than I ever thought I would be in my entire life...I took pictures the other day so I will post one or two so you can see what I am talking about!

Before and After:

So That's it for now... I'll update again in a week or two!  I hope everyone is having a great New Year so far!  I love you all... TTFN!

  1. Umm... So I developed a secret love for Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband in College as well! We need to talk about this. And the fact that one of them served a mission at home makes it way better!

Isn't it nice to have reminders of home? Just today, someone at the University used the word bubbler, which of course started a conversation (since nobody but me knew what she was talking about) and it made me feel like a little piece of home was here in MI with me. Oh, and when are you coming to visit? I miss you!
