So rereading my last post I realized that it was a bit on the lame side (especially after reading my brother-in-law's last post). So I decided that one in the morning would be a good time to update so here is a more detailed update:
First I mentioned that I received a new calling as Relief Society President. Okay so I think I diminished how excited and how anxious I am about this calling. I am anxious because I know what a time consuming and spiritually, physically and emotionally draining calling this is going to be, especially for someone like me who is already every emotionally connected to people (even ones I don't know very well). That is also the reason I am excited for this calling. I know that I will be given countless opportunities to learn and grow and become strengthened by the people around me, but I also know that I have many experiences to share and so much love and compassion to share that I will have the opportunity to teach and strengthen others with my influence and I am grateful for the privilege to share what I know and to care so much for the sisters in my ward. I am grateful for the wonderful examples I have had in the past and for the support system I have in my ward, my stake and in my life with friends and family! I hope to update often with experiences, blessings and lessons I learn through serving in this wonderful calling. I also just want to say that I am so grateful for the strength and power of prayer. Heavenly Father knows me and he hears my prayers. I know this to be true because this new calling is a direct answer to one of my smaller prayers to have the opportunity and the courage to get to know the people in my new ward! I am so grateful for the trials in my life and I am grateful for the challenges that come my way through the answers I receive. They make me stronger and they teach me that nothing in life is as satisfying as succeeding through the struggles!
Now for an update on the new job! So here is the scoop. I work at Kneader's Bakery and Cafe still. I work 5 days a week there (Sundays we are closed and I get one other day off a week). Everyday I work open (6 or 6:30) until about 1:30 or 2 pm except for Saturdays which I now work 3-11 pm as the shift lead. What that means is that I am the acting manager I answer the phones, I resolve customer issues, concerns and complaints. I supervise the other employees and oversee pastry hour, I make the start for Monday breads and I close down and lock up at night. I am the last person to leave and I am responsible for anything that goes wrong or isn't done at the end of the evening. I give specific details about my job description because for those of you who don't know me well now have an idea of what my Saturday nights entail and those of you who know me too well can now get a bit of an idea how much extra pressure I put on my self on Saturday nights... I hope that as I get more comfortable and familiar with being the shift lead I also become more efficient with my time. Anyway, that is the scoop with Kneader's. As for Chili's, tonight was my 5th solo shift (meaning my 5th night working where I keep the tips and I am no longer "training"). So far things are going well, I have made around $200 in just 5 shifts so that is exciting. I hope that as I become more familiar with the system, the food, the alcohol (Knowing how to sell it and what it is) and the customers. I will earn more in tips. For now I am doing well though. I also hope to get faster, more efficient and have a faster turnover for my tables so I can just wait on more tables per hour and increase my income that way. I am really enjoying working at Chili's so far. Some people get a little too stressed at work and I am sure it's in part because they have been there so long that some things just rub them the wrong way just a bit more than others. I am going to try not to let it stress me out. I quite enjoy 98% of the customers who come into Chili's (there are always "those" people who make up that 2%) and I tonight I even had some customers that I waited on in the morning and in the evening... One of my tables the woman and her daughter had come through the Kneader's drive thru this morning and apparently the daughter is learning how to drive and she didn't want to have to order at the Drive thru... it was a great conversation and it was really neat to have served them in the morning at one job and then the evening at the other... it's interesting to see how people tip out here... Some people tip really well ($10 on a $30 tab) and other's are awful tippers ($1 on a $25 tab) But for the most part I am doing really well tip wise. The most difficult part of this job is just being familiar with alcohol and keeping up at a pace with experienced and seasoned servers. I'll continue to update about Chili's and hopefully share stories about experiences I have there... I am glad this week is over though... I worked from about 6:30 am until 8:30 pm Tues,Wed and Thurs and then today I worked from about 6:30 am until 11:30 pm... My feet and knees are so sore... but I am going to sleep in tomorrow and I am going to take a nice long shower when I finally get up! Anyway I close tomorrow night at Kneader's and then I am done until Tuesday from both jobs!!!
Now for details about the guy I am dating. He's cute and quirky. He's sweet and kind. He gave me flowers (purple tulips) just because. He really likes me and I like him. I don't know where it is going or if it is going to progress further than it is right now (where ever that is) but I am taking things as they come and I am trying not to think too hard about it right now... I want to get to know him better and I enjoy spending time with him... We have nice conversations and he's a good kisser so both perks! His name is Sam (I may have mentioned this in previous posts) but most people in Logan know him as Lee. It's a long story to type so if you want to know it give me a call and I can explain further. I like the name Sam better and he looks more like a Sam then a Lee to me, so that is what I refer to him as! Like I said, quirky. He makes me smile and I enjoy spending time with him... That's pretty much all I have to share (for now) on this subject though!
My last update is about the perfect new addition to my already amazing family! On May 9th my sister gave birth to a beautiful little angel named Emma. I have seen lots of pictures and I got to hear her a bit over the phone when my dad was visiting. I haven't been blessed with the opportunity to hold the cutest baby ever yet but I am hoping I will be able to sometime this summer!!! I am so grateful to be an aunt to such a perfect little sweetheart! If you can't tell yet I just think Emma is wonderful and I am so very excited and happy for her parents Kristen and Adam (sister and brother-in-law). I am also excited that they get to be parents, they will make AMAZING parents and I am blessed to have them in my life! As I said I haven't met Emma in person so I don't have much else to say about her yet, except that once again I think she is just the cutest most lovable, most perfect angel ever!
I am much more satisfied with this post than my previous one, even if no one reads this one all the way through! Anyway, until our next encounter!

June- May's update!
Wow I can't believe it's June already! So much has happened this month. I was called as Relief Society president in my singles ward. It's going to be quite a summer and quite a year! I got a second job at Chili's in addition to working days as head cashier at Kneader's and now I am a shift lead on Saturday nights at Kneader's also! I started dating someone, just casual for now, I don't know if it will progress but he's sweet so I am just going to see where things go! I finally have a room in my apartment. It's mostly organized at this point, I have just one more carload of stuff from my storage unit to unpack. What else, I bought 2 new outfits and they are adorable and I can take parts of one of them and mix and match them with other articles of clothing and create even more "new" outfits!!!
Other than that not too much is new. I have an adorable niece I can't wait to meet and I am looking forward to the school year to start so I can finish my degree! That's pretty much it! Anyway I'll update again if I have anything to update!
