I know it's been forever

Okay, so it's been an eon since my last post (okay maybe not an eon... but it feel like it).  Life has been crazy!  School has not been going exactly how I had planned.  My classes ended up being a lot harder than they were supposed to be, I have a new professor that is teaching a 2000 level class at a 3000 or 4000 level work load; a professor who hasn't taught an undergraduate class in about 15 years and doesn't really do anything; and a professor who decided this was the year to make his class harder than it has ever been!  Thank you Utah State! In addition I have been working too much... which is a terrible thing to have to say because I love working and I love the paycheck, but I have had no time to get things done and so I scramble at ridiculous times to try and get all my work complete!  I just need to pass this semester and then reorganize.

I was planning to go to London for Spring Break, through a program at Utah State, but I decided I don't have the time or money to do that right now... maybe I will look into a summer program or something for next year, but for now I'll just stay home and save some money!

I'm going home for Christmas this year and I am wicked excited!  I will get to see my family (all of them) and spend time with some friends and hopefully get some answers about other areas of life.  I feel like part of my life is on hold right now and that will be resolved by Christmas!

Not too much is new in my life, just work, school and church keeping me busy! I really love my apartment and the guys upstairs are gems! Really!  They are the cutest and sweetest guys ever! I don't know how I lucked out with such great roommates and such wonderful neighbors!

Well that's all for now... I wont promise to be better at updating but I will promise to try! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Life's What You Make It

....So I've decided to make it great! So I just got home from a fabulous week at home.  I spent time with my brother, my mom, my dad, my grandmother and two of my aunts (not pronounced "ants").  I saw old friends, went to a wedding, went zip lining, saw Spiderman, went to six flags, and went to the new outlet mall in Merrimack 4 times.  I never had to cook for myself, I never overate and I never went hungry.  And even with all of that I still had time to do some reflecting.

I love my family SO much! I am so grateful to be so loved by so many people. I am lucky to have wonderful friends and such strong influences in my life.  I realized that I am all set as far as life goes. I will always make it through. I may stumble I may even fall but I will never be defeated. My life is different from how I have ever imagined it would be and I am grateful for all that I have learned and every experience I have gained.  I have done more than I had expected for myself.  I have tried more and traveled more and enjoyed more adventures than I ever dreamed of.  It's funny because until recently I looked at my life and thought it was pretty boring, but I have met so many people in so many different place and I have new experiences everyday.  Life isn't perfect and, for that matter, never will be and I am grateful for that.  I am grateful to know that I can control my future by loving it no matter what. I have more strength than I recognize and I can do anything I want to do. With that I have to start wanting more! I have to start expecting more of myself.

I had a great trip home. I realized a lot about myself.  I realized how adult I really am.  I realized how self destructive I can be. I realized that I whine a lot and then don't do much about it!  I realized that I need to see myself the way people, who love me, see me.  I realized it's time to stop making excuses for myself and just take chances.

I'm not sure why a lot of my posts recently have been reflective and revelatory but such is life... so now to update!

So like I said I went home for a week.  I'll give the short version of my week.
Landed in Boston Thursday Morning: Went to Ida Mae's (Diner, used to be Ruthie's, I worked at in high school) and saw some regulars. Checked out the new outlet mall in Merrimack with Ed (my brother) and went to dinner with my brother my mom and my dad.
Friday: went to Six Flags with my brother and my dad, Rode the new roller coaster there called Goliath, it pretty much rocked.  Went to dinner at Woodman's (mostly fried seafood, they have gluten free for my dad so he loves it) and went home.
Saturday: Went to Kelsey and Gus's reception (Kelsey is one of my best friends, she's my Moose for those of you in the know). I saw old friends and had a wonderful time. I hung out with Angelina (another friend from home) and Corliss (yet another friend) for a bit and then went home.
Sunday: Went to my old singles ward, Heritage Park, saw my brother-in-law's brother Chris.  The ward has gotten really small and I didn't know a lot of the people there. (Change *sigh*)  Then I went to dinner with my Grandma and two of my aunts (Auntie Carole and Auntie Deb).
Monday: went to the outlet mall for a second time with my mom, grandma and Auntie Carole. Bought two new pairs of sunglasses and had lunch in the food court. We were dropped off back at home and then mom and I went BACK to the outlet mall to check out the stores we missed the first time!  Then went to Savers and bought a bunch of new shirts, plus mom gave me some of the pants that don't fit her anymore (now that she's all skinny).
Tuesday: Went to Gunstock Mountain (yes there are actual mountains in New Hampshire) and dad and I went on a zip line tour.  Probably the COOLEST activity I have ever participated in!  Then Dinner (again) at Texas Roadhouse (yum) and yes for a forth time went to the outlet mall where dad bought me a new back pack for school!
Wednesday(4th of July/Dad's birthday): Went for a ride with dad on his new motorcycle (no back rest so quite a thrilling experience).  Went to dinner at Applebee's and then saw Spiderman in IMAX 3D (AMAZING MOVIE)!  Then I went home (saw fireworks on the drive back) went to bed so I could get up at 5 am and pack for my flight back to Utah!
Thursday:  Figured out how to pack twice as much stuff into the same small back I came out with!  3 Plane rides. Boston to DC (no delays/problems).  I boarded the plane in DC to go to Denver and once everyone was safely inside the plane the captain came on and told us we would have to wait 45 min because a tire needed to be changed.  30 min later someone else came on and told  us the crew had just arrived and it would be 45 min from that point (Joy)! So my flight landed about 30 min before my next flight was SUPPOSED to depart (Denver to SLC via Frontier Airlines). Un/Fortunately my flight was delayed an hour.  Fortunate because I didn't have to freak out... unfortunate because now my day would be longer... This was all made better by the fact that I got to board almost first because all my carry-on luggage fit under the seat infront of me... and that I got to chat with a really cute guy (Hunter) for most of the flight into SLC!

All in all a very pleasant trip home... Now I need to get into a routine for the rest of the summer and I will be all set.. I have planned out almost every minute of every day for next semester so I can try to stay organized and focused and I am super excited to go home again at Christmas time! Okay well that's it for now... I'll update again...TTFN

Update 6-23-2012

It's been a little bit since my last update.  Where to start?  Work is still going well. I'd love to be getting more hours but as it is I am managing!  Plus my boss keeps telling me (and all the other managers) that I am his favorite closer so I guess that is a good sign... As long as I continue to get decent hours during the school year I will be fine.
I'm having a pretty awesome summer so far.  Work, church, playing with friends.. Lots and Lots of Disney Movies! Haha... Seriously though, I have watch some of the old Disney movies I hated when I was little and realized that I was a pretty smart little kid... they were and are terrible movies with terrible messages! If you want to know more about my assessment of these so called "kids movies" I'd be happy to share... but as for now I'll just leave you with this message... Don't take life lessons from Disney movies!
Okay, what else is new?  Oh I got a nasty sunburn yesterday! I went to Hyrum Dam (I was wearing sunblock and everything) and I am so red today is awful... Hopefully it's better by Wednesday, otherwise my drive to SLC and my flight are going to be really painful!  Haha... oh well!
Not too much else is new.  I'm killing my sleeping pattern but hopefully by the end of the summer I can straighten it out a bit!
I'm really excited because I hopefully will be going to visit my sister and brother-in-law at the end of the summer in Michigan! I haven't seen them in forever!
I really had a focus for this post today but then I got distracted so sorry it's lame and short but another day when I'm more focused! Toodles!

Crossroads

Isn't it funny how life sometimes takes you by surprise.  I recently have been doing a lot of "soul searching", trying to figure out what to do with my life... what I want out of life.. How to cope with NOTHING going according to how I imagined. I've been dealing with "regrets" not that I wish my life had gone any other way, but just wondering if I made the most out of my experiences.  Trying to figure out my heart from my head, and how to overcome my fears! I am trying to re-evaluate my priorities... I'm reading more. I'm working out and working on my groove! Ha ha.  Really though... I am just trying to enjoy every minute of every experience I have. I promise I'm not dying, even though it sounds like I am writing a "with the time I have left" speech. I just felt reflective.  That revelation aside. You know the saying: "It's like riding a bike" I get that now... I haven't ridden a bike since 2003 and I rode on one yesterday and it was as though I had been riding everyday since 2003!  This is a way random post but I felt prompted to share the first part and I was excited to share the second.  Those of you who are reading this... just remember that you love me unconditionally!!!  I hope everyone had an amazing Sunday and I hope you all got to talk to your moms today and tell them how much you love them!

2 years to go!

Wow... It's been FOREVER since I last posted.. I am so glad life is calming down!  I passed all my classes this semester! I am so glad this semester is over and I am looking forward to summer.

I get to move into my summer place on Saturday. I'm really excited, it's a beautiful apartment and it's far enough away that I can be alone but still close to people so I can socialize when I want to!

I can't wait to go home this summer. I get to see my best friend from back home get married, I get to see my daddy for the first time since last august! I am determined to see the ocean (although I have seen the ocean more recently than my family)

So other than school ending... What else is new? Well my brother came out to visit me for a weekend... My friends loved him... he loved my friends... It was pretty wonderful!

Not much else is new... Which is pretty sad. Just working and enjoying life as it comes! I will definitely keep you posted if anything new and exciting happens but until then TTFN.

(I guess it might be good to explain the post title... I now only have 2 years left of school since finishing this semester)

"New" Year!

Okay, So I resolve to try to post more often and to stop apologizing when I haven't posted in forever.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope that 2012 is filled with lots of happiness and excitement. I'll kick it off with all my happy and exciting news!  So before the new year I drove down to Arizona to spend Christmas with my mommy.  It was such a fun drive; I like driving too much I think, and I loved spending time with my mom! I was able to close my Bank of America checking and saving account because there are BoA's in Arizona! Then on New Year's I went to a work party where I finally got to try chunky cinnamon french toast (so good) and I won a DVD: Grown Ups.  It was a great night.  I hung out with some friends the Thursday before school started; we went to Cafe Rio! The Saturday before school started I went to see Sherlock Holmes with the girls in my 4-plex and Chantelle and then I went to a Harry Potter Movie Marathon!  Then School started and here is where it actually gets interesting/informative!

So I  am super excited for this semester.  I was able to meet with my academic adviser and decide what I was going to major in.  So I am officially majoring in Business Administration with a Minor in Music... I should, as long as I can get the classes I need, be graduating in May 2014 (only 10 years after graduating High School)!  So my classes this semester are mostly all toward my degree(s).. the only classes not degree(s) specific are my two gym classes, gymnastics and weight training. I am hoping that after this semester I will get into a "workout routine" and be able to continue on my own.  I am hoping to get into shape for the first time in my life!  So I am taking the 2 gym classes and also: Intro to Microeconomics, Business Communication, Masterpieces of Music (required for my minor), and Pre-Calculus.  I know at least one person in every one of my classes and I am enjoying them all so far!  All of my books are E-Books this semester, so I just need to carry my laptop around with me and a pen/pencil when I take a quiz or an exam. I take all my notes on my computer to make life lighter!  I'm still in LDV and Institute choir... Although I don't know if I will be able to be in them after this year... It depends on my schedule... I need to be in 2 of the school choirs next year for my minor (and my graduation schedule) so it depends on home much time I have.

I had an awesome experience last night.  So there is this group called Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand, they are a blue grass group, and they played at the Institute last night!  I had to stay after to help take down the extra staging we put up and put the regular staging back together!  So I got to hang around waiting for everyone to chat with the band and waiting for the band to pack up all there stuff.. so while I was waiting I started chatting with one of the band members Craig Miner (the banjo player). It came up that I was from NH  and he said he served his mission out there.  I asked which mission and guess what... He served in the Boston Massachusetts  Mission... So he knows where Merrimack is... It was so cool!  Anyway... Not too much is new and exciting... Just trying to take everything one day at a time... Okay so I just remembered something else that is new and I would have just put it before the "not too much is new" statement but this way better illustrates how "foreign" it is that I forget about it... so Sara put lots of Highlights in my hair... I am much blonder than I ever thought I would be in my entire life...I took pictures the other day so I will post one or two so you can see what I am talking about!

Before and After:

So That's it for now... I'll update again in a week or two!  I hope everyone is having a great New Year so far!  I love you all... TTFN!
